Recipe for Copycat Panera Turkey BLT

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of whole grain bread (Panera's Artisan Bread)
  • 8 oz sliced turkey breast
  • 1 ripe avocado, sliced
  • 2 large lettuce leaves (romaine or iceberg)
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced
  • 4 slices of bacon, cooked until crispy
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise (preferably homemade or a natural brand)
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: microgreens or sprouts for added freshness

Directions

  1. Prepare the sandwich spread: In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix well and set aside.
  2. Toast the bread: Toast the bread slices to your desired level of crispiness.
  3. Assemble the sandwiches: Spread the sandwich spread evenly on two slices of toasted bread. Layer the turkey, avocado, lettuce, tomato, and bacon on top of the spread. Add a pinch of salt and pepper to the avocado slices. Top with the remaining slice of toasted bread.
  4. Cut and serve: Cut each sandwich in half diagonally and serve immediately.
